As the world is busy in a survival battle against an enemy that is present everywhere but cannot be seen. The real cost of this epidemic is yet to be gauged both in terms of lives it takes and also economies it destroys. Its not my intention to incite any undue fear but the destruction attributed to this crisis is immensely increasing by each day.
Even the most developed of countries are struggling to contain this outbreak and fear has engulfed the stock markets and all the businesses ranging from small establishments to gigantic conglomerates.
Its estimated that at least about 6 months are needed to get rid of the anxiety associated with this crisis and getting things going again on an almost normal pace, seen before this crisis, for the developed countries, for the developing and third world countries its whole different story.
So here is a hypothetical scenario. World has just defeated this epidemic and a vaccine is still in developing stages. Only the countries still dealing with outbreak are Iran, North Korea, mainly because of lack of resources to tackle this crisis. What could happen next, in the absence of a vaccine or a cure, is another surge in number of infections in countries which have just been able to control the disease. So here is a million dollars question, are we ready to go through all of this misery again just after having overcome it? And is there any resilience left in our economies after only a single outburst of this epidemic?
If the answer to above hypothetical questions is a resounding No! Then we should seriously consider the possibility of letting the sanctions on these countries loosen a little bit, so that this crisis don't come back and bite us in a** again.
Like it or not, its a perfectly manufactured bio-weapon that has been distributed all over the globe. So unless we manufacture a cure or a vaccine, the fate of world is in the hands of incompetent leadership of internationally cursed states.
